ASTON — Don’t look now, but another Bucks County team is a game away from a state championship.

Down three runs in the top of the sixth, Bensalem scraped and clawed their way back to stun the La Salle College Explorers 5-4 in extras.

In the top of the eighth inning, Nick Fossile helped put an end to the free baseball with a sacrifice fly (see video below).

Fossile was at a loss of words after delivering the go-ahead RBI. “I thought it could be my last at-bat,” Fossile said. “It was surreal.”

The Owls now advance to the PIAA 6A state finals against Canon McMillan, a team who knocked off a Bucks County team (CRN) 4-1 to reach the championship game.

“One last game with my brothers,” Fossile said. “We’ve been doing this since we were ten, 11, 12 years-old. Time for one final game with my brothers.”
