After the $155 million reconstruction of Trenton Central High School into a state of the art facility, the Tornadoes boy’s basketball team is looking for a fresh start.
Coming off of a memorable 24-6 season, and finishing the season with a 12-1 record in the CVC, the young Tornadoes have a lot to live up to. They will lose over nine seniors, including All-CVC selections; Jordan Williams and Elijah Kelly. The Tornadoes will also lose 6’8″ senior Ethan Garita who transferred to the Princeton Day School.
This will look to be one of the youngest and least experienced teams that famed coach Daryl Young will have ever coached. With only four seniors on the team this year compared to last year’s nine, they will have to step up tremendously to lead the team.
Despite the youth, Young will be looking to repeat another 20 win season this year, and with his coaching ability, he should be able to get his players ready to compete for the CVC title.
Some key players to look out for this year include shifty guard Brandon Moore and 6’5 big man Willie Taylor to fill the leadership void.
Trenton Central will open their season against West Windsor Plainsboro North on December 20th right here on the WBCB Sports Network
