It appears a two-week layoff in between baseball games hardly affected the Broad Street Park American Legion team.

After Kyle Harrington’s walk-off grand slam gave BSP its first state title since 1975, the squad finally got to play again today against Souderton, Pa. BSP came out victorious with a 7-3 victory in the first-round game of the double-elimination tournament.

Right fielder Justin Wiltsey had two hits and an RBI, Jose Rodriguez had two hits and two RBI’s.

On the mound Adam Chiacchio and Nick Diaz pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.

BSP now plays a familiar waiting game. The Mercer County based team awaits the winner between Spring City, Pennsylvania and Vienna, Virginia, at 4 p.m. Thursday.
