Notre Dame remained undefeated behind a gem from Nick Feretic, as they got the win 6-1 over Allentown on Saturday afternoon.

The Irish offense started out of the gate slow as Allentown took a 1-0 lead in the second inning thanks to a Jack Nitti RBI single. Nitti who was the starter for the Redbirds, pitched 4.1 IP, 5 H 6 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3K on 90 pitches.

Notre Dame rallied an inning later in the bottom of the third, scoring four runs on three hits. Nick Feretic had an RBI single along with Jake Kmiec who had a two-run RBI single in the inning that gave the Irish the 4-1 lead. They didn’t look back from there, tacking on two more runs in the fifth inning giving the Irish the 6-1 victory.

The Irish were led by starting pitcher Nick Feretic who pitched 7 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 5 K, 92 pitches also he went 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI single. Jake Kmiec went 3-for-3 with three RBI’s for Notre Dame, while Kyle Rosica drove in two runs. Ryan Mains went 2-for-4 with two runs. Notre Dame now improves to 11-0 on the season and 8-0 in the Colonial Division of the Colonial Valley Conference.

The Allentown Redbirds drop to 8-5 on the season and 5-2 in the Colonial Division of the Colonial Valley Conference. Next up the Redbirds take on Princeton (3-10) on Monday afternoon.
